The 47th Award Night of the University of Nigeria{Unn}. Wow! a lady emerges the best graduating student(BGS).

UNN'S 47TH AWARD NIGHT

The University of Nigeria recently held her 47th award night yesterday 30th November, 2017. The award night started by 7:00pm to 9:20pm yesterday night, this prestigious award night has been held years back since 1970. The school produces the best graduating student every year, and award is been given to such student on the award night. These are the awards presented to the best students :

Best Graduating Student of the session.
Best Graduating Student in each academic faculty.
Best Graduating Student in each academic department.
All First Class honors of the session.
Best female graduating student of the session.
Best male graduating student.
Best graduating student in some special courses.
Best graduating programmer.
Best graduating artist.
Sometimes best graduating second class upper student.
Other special awards.

The oni of Ife who is the chancellor of the University was represented by the vice chancellor, prof. Benjamin Chukwuma Ozumba. The opening prayer was made by an honorable which was immediately followed by the opening speech made by the vice chancellor. The meeting commenced by 7pm at the Princess Alexandra Auditorium(PPA) where it held.

Prices and cash awards won by the best students from the University were :

N75,000 for the best graduating student.
N20,000 for best graduating student in each faculty.
N10,000 for best graduating student in each department.
N5,000 for First Class honors.

Prices and cash awards won by the best students from Zenith Bank Plc were :

N250,000 for the best graduating student in the department of banking and finance.
N250,000 for other special awards.

Prices and cash awards won by the best students from the formal governor of Abia State, Mr. Ojiuzor Kalu were :

N250,000 for the best graduating student.
N250,000 for the best graduating student in the department of Medicine and Surgery.
N250,000 for the best graduating student in the department of banking and finance.
N250,000 for the best graduating student for some selected departments.
N250,000 for special awards.

Prices and cash awards won by some memorial academy were :

N250,000 for the best graduating student.
N250,000 for the best graduating female student.
N250,000 for best graduating student in the department of banking and finance.
N250,000 for the best graduating student in the department of Medicine and Surgery.
